Jose Valverde could see some save opportunities early in the season as Bobby Parnell returns from neck surgery. Parnell is the Mets' undisputed closer, but Mets manager Terry Collins has expressed some concern about using Parnell three straight days. Valverde, who made the team as a non-roster invitee, would be first in line for those saves. Otherwise, the 36-year-old will serve as the team's primary setup man.
