Jordan Pacheco went 2-for-4 and hit a three-run homer as the Rockies bested the Cubs 7-5 on Thursday.

The homer was just Pacheco's fifth in 453 at-bats, but his game is more about singles (.309 average) and doubles (30). The Rockies will probably have him battle Chris Nelson for the starting job at third base next spring. Ideally, Nelson would win the job and Pacheco could be used as a backup at the corners, a third catcher and a pinch-hitter.
