Jones has been out of the lineup since Apr. 7 due to a rib injury, and though he was able to come in as a defensive replacement Monday, swinging a bat is still problematic for the center fielder. By using Jones on Monday, the Orioles can't backdate him to Apr. 7 if he ultimately does require a stint on the disabled list. Joey Rickard will remain atop the lineup Wednesday and he'll take over in center for Jones. The Orioles begin a four-game set against the Rangers on Thursday, but it remains unclear when Jones will be able to return to the lineup.
