Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com reports that the Yankees and Mariano Rivera are on the verge of agreeing on a one-year, $10 million contract.

Per Jayson Stark of ESPN, the deal could become official on Friday. Rivera earned $15 million this past season, so he's getting a pretty sizable pay cut in base salary, but there are likely some incentives involved. The 42-year-old right-hander is coming off surgery to repair a torn right ACL, but he's expected to be ready to go for spring training.
