Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com reports that in addition to the Rangers, executives expect the Angels, Blue Jays and Orioles to "make a push" to acquire Josh Johnson from the Marlins.
The same teams are all believed to be in the mix for Brewers' right-hander Zack Greinke. Johnson could fetch more in the way of prospects, as he is under contract for $13.75 million in 2013. The 28-year-old right-hander has a 4.14 ERA and a 105/35 K/BB ratio in 119 2/3 innings this season. The Marlins are reportedly 50-50 on whether they'll deal him, but they could intensify their efforts now that Cole Hamels is off the trade market.
