Jon Heyman of SI.com reports that the Mets "have apparently decided to keep" Jason Isringhausen. There's been plenty of speculation that the Mets will trade Izzy before the deadline, but Heyman writes that they want him to mentor likely "closer of the future" Bobby Parnell. It's unlikely they would get much in return, anyway, plus Isringhausen has a legitimate chance at reaching 300 saves if he stays with the Mets for the rest of the season. He's currently at 294 for his career.
