Dowdy's only major-league experience saw him post a 7.25 ERA in 22.1 innings for the Rangers back in 2019, walking more batters (18) than he struck out (17). He spent 2021 with Triple-A Columbus in the Guardians' system, where his 4.80 ERA and 14.7 percent walk rate both suggest he's unlikely to take the step forward and become an important major-league arm.
