John Fay of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports that it's possible Tony Cingrani could be demoted from the rotation when Mat Latos (elbow) returns. That would mean Alfredo Simon, who boasts a 2.31 ERA over nine starts, would remain in the rotation. Cingrani holds a 4.06 ERA but has also struck out a batter per inning, while Simon has just 36 punchouts over 58 1/3 frames. For what it's worth, Reds manager Bryan Price offered no clues when asked about Simon potentially keeping his spot over Cingrani. "It's important that (Cingrani) pitches well," Price said. "We're going to be in a situation soon where everybody's healthy and we have six starters for five spots. Pitching well would benefit anybody. But there's no doubt pitching well would benefit him."
