Johan Santana tossed a four-hit shutout in a 9-0 win over the Padres on Saturday. And he needed just 96 pitches to get there. Santana was masterful against the light-hitting Padres, giving up just four singles while striking out seven and walking none. It was his first shutout August 12, 2010 against the Rockies. While his velocity isn't what it once was following shoulder surgery, it hasn't mattered until this point. He'll carry an impressive 2.75 ERA into a start against the Cardinals next Friday.
