Johan Santana (shoulder) will make his second and likely final minor league rehab start Friday with Class A Savannah. Santana is expected to throw approximately three innings or 40-45 pitches. The preference was for Santana to pitch with High-A St. Lucie, but they will face elimination in their playoff series on Thursday. Assuming all goes well, the southpaw could rejoin the Mets as soon as next week. The goal is for Santana to make one or two appearances in the majors before shutting it down for the winter.
