Johan Santana (shoulder) threw 28 pitches over two innings in an extended spring training game Monday. Santana was hitting 87-89 mph with his fastball -- a marked improvement over where he was just a couple weeks ago. The veteran left-hander could be an option for the Orioles at some point in early June.
