Johan Santana (shoulder) is close to resuming throwing from a mound. We heard last week that Santana was throwing from a mound again, but apparently that wasn't the case. He stopped throwing off a mound earlier this month after experiencing discomfort in his arm. "Everything's been good so far, but he hasn't pushed it," assistant GM John Ricco said. "That would be getting up on the mound and letting it go. He hasn't gone there yet. And a lot of that is really based on how he feels." The Mets have not set an updated timetable for Santana's return. The last we heard, he was supposed to return sometime in August.
