Miami Marlins third baseman Joey Wendle (hamstring) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Saturday with Triple-A Jacksonville and serve as the designated hitter. Wendle has been out since early June, but he's nearing a return to Miami's starting lineup. Barring any setbacks, the 32-year-old could be back in the big leagues at some point next week.
