Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that Joel Hanrahan (elbow) is expected to throw off a mound in about a month and be ready by late March. It was reported last week that Hanrahan was ahead of schedule, but late March would be a pretty remarkable recovery. When he had Tommy John and flexor tendon surgery in mid-May, he was projected to be out as long as 16 months, putting him in line for a midseason return. The smart money would probably be on him returning somewhere in between those two estimates. Sherman notes that Hanrahan is willing to accept a setup job as he rebuilds his value.
