Joel Sherman of the New York Post hears that the Indians may be in the lead to sign outfielder Jason Bay.
Believe it or not, there's a mini-bidding war for Bay. The Mariners are still in the mix while the Cubs are said to be in the periphery. The Indians could be a nice fit, as new skipper Terry Francona managed Bay in Boston from 2008-2009. The 34-year-old outfielder batted just .165/.237/.299 in 70 games this past season, but teams are banking on a modest rebound with the change of scenery. He's expected to get a major-league deal.
