Joel Pineiro tossed six innings of one-run ball Thursday in his first start with Triple-A Norfolk. Pineiro, who recently signed a minor league deal with Baltimore, allowed three hits while striking out five and walking none. He threw 55 out of 75 pitches for strikes. It's not clear how many more starts he'll make in the minors, but the Orioles currently envision the veteran right-hander has a long-man out of the bullpen.
