Joel Hanrahan was diagnosed with damage to the flexor tendon in his right elbow. The flexor tendon is what protects the ulnar collateral ligament in his elbow. Hanrahan has yet to decide whether he will rest and rehab the injury or undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery. Either way, he is facing an extended absence.
