Joel Hanrahan underwent Tommy John surgery in addition to flexor tendon surgery on his right elbow Thursday. He also had bone spurs removed from the elbow. The flexor tendon repair was expected, but the hope is that Hanrahan wouldn't need Tommy John. As it is, he'll now be sidelined well into the 2014 season. Hanrahan is slated for free agency this winter.
