Joel Hanrahan (elbow) will begin throwing from a distance of 75 feet on Monday as he continues his recovery from Tommy John surgery and flexor tendon surgery. Hanrahan underwent both procedures in mid-May and was given a 12-to-14 month timetable for his recovery, putting an expected return somewhere around the All-Star break in 2014. The hard-throwing 32-year-old right-hander represents a low-risk, high-reward option on the free agent market this offseason.
