Joe Saunders was ineffective against the Phillies on Wednesday, allowing five runs on five hits and four walks in six innings of a Diamondbacks loss in Philadelphia. He struck out three. Saunders has failed to turn in a quality start in three August outings, and seen his ERA balloon from 3.56 on July 31 to 3.91. Now 8-10, he'll get the Nationals in Washington on Monday.
