Joe Saunders allowed just one hit over five scoreless innings in Thursday's 4-1 defeat of the Cardinals. Saunders walked four but operated efficiently in damage control during the rain-soaked outing in St. Louis. He hasn't allowed more than two runs in a start since June 15 and will cruise into the All-Star break having posted a 3.86 ERA in the first half.
