Joe Mayer went 5-for-7 with a homer and four RBI in a losing cause against the Indians on Wednesday. The homer tied the game off Chris Perez in the bottom of the 10th, though the Twins lost two innings later anyway. It was Mauer's fifth career five-hit game. Among active players, only Ichiro Suzuki, with seven, has more. The homer put Mauer into double figures for the fourth time in his career. He hit 13 in 2006, 28 in 2009 and 10 last year.
