Joe Mauer went 2-for-3 with a walk, homer and two RBI on Sunday against the White Sox. The home run was Mauer's first since June 26. Entering the game, he'd also logged just one extra-base hit since July 21. Mauer's wife recently gave birth to twin girls, and first-time fatherhood and sleep deprivation might help explain some of the All-Star catcher's recent scuffles. He entered the game batting just .161 in August.
