Minnesota Twins first baseman Joe Mauer (concussion) is heading to Scranton to begin a rehab assignment. Mauer has been on the disabled list since mid-May with a concussion but appears to be ready for live action. There is not a definite timetable for how long he will be on the rehab assignment but it is likely that Mauer will be back with the Twins by the end of the week. Mauer's return to first base will allow Logan Morrison to resume his role as the team's primary designated hitter.
