Jimmy Rollins said Tuesday that he isn't concerned about trade rumors because the Phillies can't trade him.
Rollins' rift with the management in Philly grows by the day. Even if Rollins didn't own 10-and-5 rights, GM Ruben Amaro Jr. probably wouldn't find a suitor. Because he does, as the veteran shortstop points out, everyone should shut up. "I don't care which way it is tried to be twisted or said, or if it is exactly how it was said, or even if it was said, I can't be traded," he said. "It doesn't matter. If I was tradable it may have weight because that means I could be moving soon. But I am not tradable and so it doesn't matter." Rollins, 35, is owed $11 million this season while his contract includes an $11 million vesting option for 2015 if he reaches 434 plate appearances. Freddy Galvis may be in line for more at-bats this season if the Phillies decide to take drastic measures to ensure Rollins' deal expires after this coming season.
