Jimenez was claimed off waivers from the Brewers by the Red Sox on Sunday. Jimenez was just 1-for-15 at the plate this year in Milwaukee, with Hector Gomez having outplayed him for what will amount to the backup second base job. He'll now get a fresh start in Boston, but playing time will likely be limited in a well-established infield.
