Jesse Sanchez of MLB.com reports that Joel Pineiro is attempting a comeback to Major League Baseball. The 35-year-old right-hander hasn't appeared in the big leagues since posting a 5.13 ERA and 1.51 WHIP over 2/3 innings with the Angels in 2011. He missed the entire 2013 season after undergoing surgery for a torn labrum, but is currently pitching for Puerto Rico in the Caribbean Series, and looking for a spring training invite from any interested teams.
