Jerry Blevins was mighty impressive, pitching out of a major jam to preserve a one-run victory over the Angels on Tuesday. The A's entered the ninth with a 6-3 lead, but Grant Balfour allowed a pair of runs to score and left runners at first and third with nobody out. Blevins inherited the dicey situation, and immediately got Kendrys Morales to strike out on four pitches. He then got Howie Kendrick to hit into a game-ending double play ground out. While he's unlikely to take over the reigns of the closer's job anytime soon, he gets to be the hero for at least one evening.
