Jeremy Jeffress gave up four runs in one-third of an inning out of the pen in Saturday's AFL championship game. Jeffress, a product of the Zack Greinke trade, made the Royals out of spring training, only to get sent down in May and never be heard from again. He ended up struggling in Triple-A and pitching slightly better as a Double-A statter before amassing a 4.91 ERA in 11 innings in the AFL. The 24-year-old has the big fastball that's long made him a quality prospect, but it doesn't look like he'll be in the mix for a spot on Kansas City's staff to open 2012.
