Jeremy Hellickson was shelled for five runs on five hits over 4 2/3 innings in a loss to the Diamondbacks on Tuesday. The Snakes bit Hellickson in Tampa Bay for four runs over 4 1/3 innings in another loss Wednesday. This time, in Arizona, league rules at least gave him the opportunity to collect a single off Arizona foe Wade Miley. The league teed off on Hellickson earlier this season, but the 26-year-old rebounded during a great stretch from June 19-July 26, posting a 2.96 ERA over nine starts. We're confident that Hellickson's 4.77 ERA will diminish. His high BABIP is destined to drop and his unusually low strand rate is bound to rise.
