Jeremy Guthrie wasn't at his best on Thursday, allowing five runs on 12 hits over seven innings against the Astros, though he did manage to pick up the win. Guthrie struck out one and didn't walk a batter in the game. Staked to a 9-1 lead after two innings, all he needed to do was throw strikes and eat innings, which he happy obliged. With the victory, he improves to 3-3 on the season, though his ERA is still inflated at 5.48 and he only has 19 strikeouts in 47 2/3 innings. He shouldn't be owned or started in all but the deepest of leagues, especially when pitching at home. He'll square off against the Diamondbacks in Arizona on Tuesday, hoping for a repeat of the tremendous run support.
