Guthrie danced out of most of his self-inflicted problems, but Alex Avila had his number and smacked two homers that accounted for all three runs on Guthrie's ledger. This was Guthrie's third consecutive quality start and his fourth out of five. The right-hander drops to 14-11 with a 4.08 ERA.
