Jeremy Affeldt pitched two perfect innings for his first second save Tuesday against the Mets. When Brian Wilson originally went down, the Giants seemed to view Javier Lopez as more of a part of the closer-by-committee than Affeldt. Affeldt, though, is the better of the two left-handers against righties, and he's been steady all year in amassing a 2.53 ERA. With Santiago Casilla struggling, Affeldt could be in line for more save chances.
