Jeremy Affeldt is expected to be sidelined 4-6 weeks after being diagnosed with a moderate left groin strain. It's expected to be closer to six weeks than four. Affeldt revealed that he's been pitching with groin soreness for a couple weeks and had to leave Saturday's appearance after aggravating the injury. The Giants will still have a couple lefties in the pen with Javier Lopez and Jose Mijares, but losing Affeldt is obviously a blow.
