Jeremy Affeldt (groin) is scheduled to throw a simulated inning on Tuesday afternoon. Affeldt has been throwing off a bullpen mound for two weeks and should be ready to rejoin the Giants' relief corps within the next seven days. The left-hander has been out since July 21 due to a left groin strain.
