Jered Weaver (lower back strain) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Sunday. If all goes well, Weaver could return to the starting rotation sometime next week. "We want to make sure we don't miss any steps, and he's where he needs to be," manager Mike Scioscia said. "Obviously, the first workout he felt great. We'll see how he feels tomorrow. Then we can make a determination of exactly where he is."
