Jered Weaver faced little resistance from the Blue Jays Monday, tossing seven shutout innings on five hits and three walks while striking out two in the 3-0 victory. Weaver started the eighth and allowed back-to-back singles to start the inning, but Scott Downs bailed him out, inducing a double-play ball and then a pop out. The right-hander has shown no ill effects since returning from a back injury, allowing just one run over three starts. He'll carry a nifty 2.13 ERA and 0.94 WHIP into this weekend's start against the Orioles.
