Jered Weaver blanked the A's for 6 2/3 innings and struck out eight in a victory on Friday night. Weaver took a loss to the Mariners in his final start before the break, but he's allowed a total of six runs in his last five starts, three of which were victories. His eight strikeouts tonight were his high total since last Sept. 13, when he fanned nine A's.
