Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports was told by two executives that the Blue Jays are telling teams they don't have plans to trade Josh Johnson. With a 5.16 ERA over 12 starts, Johnson's trade value is minimal at the moment. With that in mind, one AL GM said the Blue Jays have considered keeping the impending free agent in order to make him a qualifying offer this offseason. There's always the chance that he could accept what would likely be a one-year deal around $15 million, but if he declines and signs elsewhere, the Blue Jays would receive draft pick compensation next year.
