J.C. Romero is slated to open the 2013 regular season in the bullpen at Triple-A Syracuse. Romero is still with the big league club for now, but he will be officially assigned to the minor leagues before Opening Day. The veteran left-hander signed a minor league contract with the Nationals on March 22.
