Javier Lopez left the field Monday after a ball hit his left hand and deflected up and hit his face. The injury occurred on short-hop throw. It doesn't sound like a major concern, but the Giants are examining him just to be sure. The 35-year-old southpaw had a 2.50 ERA and 28/14 K/BB ratio over 36 innings last season and projects to serve as an important late-inning arm again in 2013.
