Jason Vargas was tagged for five runs in 5 2/3 innings Thursday in a loss to the Athletics. Vargas danced around trouble for most of the night, but he gave up three straight extra-base hits (including a two-run homer by Josh Donaldson) before being pulled in the sixth. Kevin Jepsen then allowed two inherited runners to score, further damaging Vargas' line. The southpaw allowed 10 hits and three walks in the loss. While he was a dud on Thursday night, we still think he'll be a pretty decent streaming option in his home starts.
