Jason Vargas was shelled for five earned runs over 5 1/3 innings Tuesday in the Angels' loss to the Brewers. Vargas struck out four and issued only one walk, but he yielded eight hits -- two of which were home runs. The 30-year-old left-hander has a 6.00 ERA so far this spring, but he is locked into a starting rotation spot.
