Jason Vargas was ripped for eight runs over four innings in a loss to the Blue Jays Tuesday. It was a night to forget. Vargas walked four, gave up seven hits and struck out two. Those that trusted him in mixed leagues after he posted consecutive quality starts got burned bad. Vargas has now been shelled in five of seven outings since the All-Star break, raising his ERA from 3.49 to 4.37.
