Jason Vargas was lit up for seven runs in 4 2/3 innings by the White Sox on Monday. Vargas has allowed just 28 runs in 10 starts, but half of those have come in two outings this month: the seven tonight and seven against the Tigers on May 4. It was the homers that did it tonight; he surrendered a season-high three, bringing his total for the year to 10. He gets the righty heavy Angels next time out, making him a mediocre play in mixed leagues.
