Jason Vargas turned in an impressive performance in Friday's victory over the Blue Jays, allowing one run on seven hits over six innings. Vargas punched out seven on the night while issuing three free passes. The only run against him came on a solo blast off the bat of Jose Bautista. He has been a very stable and dependable arm for the Royals this season, compiling a 3.39 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 59/21 K/BB ratio 77 innings. He'll look to keep it rolling when he takes on the Cardinals at home on Wednesday.
