Jason Vargas limited the Indians to one run on four hits and three walks in seven innings of Wednesday's 4-1 victory. Vargas struck out seven in his best start of the young season. Now the owner of a 2.84 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 19/7 K/BB ratio through his first 25 1/3 innings, Vargas' numbers are particularly encouraging since three of his four outings have come away from Safeco Field. That being said, he's still best utilized as a spot starter outside of AL-only leagues. He'll get the Tigers in Detroit next week.
