Jason Vargas held the Mariners to one run over 6 1/3 innings in a victory Saturday. Vargas allowed eight hits, but only Dustin Ackley's double went for extra bases, and he still had his shutout going into the seventh inning. Now that he's demonstrated he's healthy, there's at least a slim chance of Vargas getting traded before the end of the month. He'd be an attractive third or fourth starter for a team in a big ballpark. He's 7-5 with a 3.77 ERA for the season.
