Jason Vargas got roughed up on Wednesday evening in Toronto, allowing five runs on six hits and five walks in just three innings of a Mariners loss. The five walks were a season worst, while Vargas notched zero strikeouts in falling to 6-8 on the season. The non-quality start was his second straight after he began July by allowing just two runs in his first 17 innings of work. Now the owner of a 3.94 ERA and 1.24 WHIP, he'll get the Yankees in New York next week.
