Jason Vargas blanked the Mariners for seven innings, allowing just three hits, to cruise to a victory Friday. Vargas was coming off back-to-back poor outings against the Jays and Tigers, so a matchup with his former team and its lefty-heavy lineup in Safeco was just what the doctor ordered. Unfortunately, he'll get the Rockies next time out, so it'd probably be a good idea to hold him out in mixed leagues.
